Greetings and Welcome,
I hope your journey across the great Internet was not a terrible one. You have reached the website of the 6th Alabama Cavalry reenacting regiment. I hope you can find what brought you to this site. Feel free to look around and download anything you wish. All pictures and waves are uploaded with their author's permissions. If you have any questions about what you find here or would like to know even more about this hobby or the War of Northern Aggression then e-mail me (the webmaster and one of the officers of the 6th) at rmcleod@rmcleod.com.
For the first time this past year our main event (Thunder on the Bay) was professionally video taped. That video is available for order by following the (don't laugh) following link:

There is also another site that is linked rather strongly in spirit to our own. The 10th Indiana Cav is our Federal Impression. When it is necessary
for us to dress in the blue this is the unit that we pick. For basic reason of historically accurancy we choose this unit
because of it's service record included many battles in this part of the country as well as engagements against the 6th Alabama
Cav itself. The following is a link to the 10th Indiana Cav's own website:
The 6th Alabama Cav hosts one event every year that has a very unique situation for Reenactors to taste the past. The Battle of Mobile Bay was one of the final strokes of the Union to wipe out Confederate seaports that blockade runners were still getting through. Our unit hosts the spring Battle of Mobile at Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island. The event boasts tall masted ships with landing craft. So if you have ever wanted to 'Storm the Beach' meet us there this spring.
The following link goes to the Fort Gaines Website. Please take a look at the Reenactor paradise as we like to think of it.
